Intuitive design meets efficiency

"It's just a better system. I love the screen and how simple it is. You almost don't need an attendant; everything is on the screen. You touch the screen, and it walks you through every step. It's way more intuitive, and the screen is better looking. The cabinet is smaller too. Everything is so simple and so clean, and it also doesn't take up as much space."

Frequently asked questions

What machines are supported?

The Laundroworks system works with 100% of all commercially available machine types, including very old models. For most modern laundry machines, we have integrations using serial protocols - digital languages that the card reader uses to communicate with the computer inside the laundry machine. These integrations allow features such as remote multi-tier pricing control and machine state reporting, including error codes. Vending machines (with MDB), arcade games, massage chairs, and door access systems are also supported.

Can machines still accept coins?

Yes, you can add a reader to the machine and still use the coin drop. However, the vast majority (95%) of our customers run coinless stores - they have either removed the coin drops and replaced them or started without them. Cash bills are still accepted at the kiosk; instead of breaking the bill into change, a customer simply adds it as digital value onto the laundry card or the app. On average, 70% of the revenue of US-based laundromats with Laundroworks is through cash. You can eliminate the pains of managing a coin-operated store and benefit massively from digitizing the store and all of your customers' transactions.

What happens if the internet goes down?

Credit card acceptance at the kiosk will not function. However, the card readers on the machines will continue to accept payment. You can still reload the laundry card with cash at the kiosk.

Is a laundry card needed with the mobile app for customers?

No. The mobile app for customers is completely independent. You can download the app, add funds to it, and use it directly at the machine by tapping your phone. You don't need the kiosk unless you want to reload the balance in the app with cash.

What promotions does the system offer?

- Bonuses for reloading the App/Card
- Bonuses on cash use
- Card-specific vend price discounts (e.g., 20% off washers with card)
- Free dry promotion (customers must do a wash before getting free dry)
- Time-of-day/week pricing
- PROMO code campaigns (promo codes redeemed at kiosk)

What happens if a customer loses their card?

We recommend that operators encourage their customers to register their laundry card with a name and phone number or email address directly at the kiosk. This way, if a customer loses their card, they can use the kiosk to easily replace it with the old balance - without needing an attendant.

How is your reader mounted and connected to the laundry machine?

Typically, the coin-drop mechanism is removed and a card reader is attached instead. We make different reader mounting brackets so that the reader can be mounted without any drilling. A machine-specific wiring harness is used to connect to the computer board inside the machine. The reader is wirelessly networked for connectivity. It's a plug-and-play installation.

How do refunds work?

Providing a refund is very easy since the prepaid card/app balances are managed by the system operator. You can issue a refund to a customer's card/app balance directly at the kiosk using a special-access management card or management app, or remotely through our online management software.

How many bills does the kiosk hold?

Each kiosk can hold about 1,000 bills.

Does it support multiple languages?

The kiosks support English, Spanish, and French. Every screen on the kiosk has an easy-to-use language toggle button.

Who keeps the float?

All payments from reloading the card/app balances go to the owner/operator. Cash is obviously yours, and the credit/debit card purchases are funded to your bank account within 24-48 hours.

Who do I contact if I have problems?

We have in-house, engineer-trained tech support in Canada and the US. We offer extended call hours support during evenings and weekends. We can even set up video calls on Zoom or FaceTime.

Where do I buy the system?

You can buy the system from one of our 70+ nationwide dealers. There's a good chance that your laundry equipment dealer is already a distributor of Laundroworks. Please contact us at info@laundroworks.com if you need help locating a dealer.

What are the fees?

We charge a small annual subscription for a service package which includes all the software to manage the system, mobile apps, phone and email tech support, and firmware maintenance of the kiosk and readers. Other than credit card processing fees (charged when a customer reloads their card or app balance), there are no other fees. There is no fee to use the card or app at the machine.
